Fairy Tales and Freud: a new blog exploring psychoanalysis in literature

The popularity of a post I wrote a few years back, titled ‘Fairy Tales and Freud: Psychoanalysis in Children’s Stories,’ has astounded me. Having realised how interested people are in Psychoanalysis and Fairy Tales, I’ve decided to set up an independent blog focussed solely on understanding psychoanalysis and its application in literature.

I’ve started with a few basic posts about psychoanalysis itself, and will go on to explore psychoanalytic theory in individual fairy tales such as Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, The Little Mermaid and many more.

Head over to the new blog and take a look around. Be sure to hit ‘follow’ for weekly updates on psychoanalysis and Freudian readings of popular literature, including the new J. K. Rowling film Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, and Ridley Scott’s cult classic, Alien.

This looks to be a fascinating and timely blog. I definitely “get” the importance of endeavors that seek to describe the human condition by drawing on synthetic fusions literature and psychoanalysis. See my own blog for my fledging efforts in this arena, in which I analyze poet Wallace Stevens’ interest in human subjectivity – http://www.therapyviews.com Best wishes to you!

    1. Thanks! Will do Garth 🙂
