Writers on Reading with George Sandifer-Smith

Writers on Reading

I loved recording this episode of Writers on Reading, alongside Pushcart Prize nominated poet George Sandifer-Smith, who shared some insights about the processes of writing both his recent works, Nights Travel at the Right Speed and Empty Trains. It was great to chat with authors and hosts Sophie Buchaillard and Jonathan Macho for a second time (we first spoke following the launch of The Wrong Side of the Looking Glass back in 2020,) with a coffee in hand and a baby on my knee!

If you don’t mind the occasional baby gurgle or dog ruff, you can listen to the episode here, in which George and I realise there are some thematic similarities in our work, read a couple of poems each, and discuss our current recommendations!

Seren First Thursday December

In other news, I’ll be at Seren’s First Thursday event in Chapter Arts Centre at the beginning of December. It’s been ages since I’ve been Cardiff-way, and this is my last reading of the year, so I’m really looking forward to catching up with some familiar faces, signing some books, and reading alongside Christopher Meredith! If you can’t make it in person, the event will be streamed live, so you can join us in the comfort of your own slippers!

(Note the open mic segment will not be streamed.)
