“Hovering at the border: an exploration of psychological transition in modern and postmodern short fiction”

I am undertaking doctoral study at Aberystwyth University where my research primarily involves an exploration of psychological transition in modern and postmodern short fiction.  I am currently working on a collection of short stories exploring the concept of borders and liminality. The critical element of my studies is comprised of an analysis of the relationship between psychological transition and borders in the short fiction of women in the modern and postmodern eras, with particular emphasis on Welsh writers such as Margiad Evans, Jean Rhys, Mary Webb and Hilda Vaughan.
